Before I get started, I wish to express condolences to any of you that either loss a love one or know of someone that is no longer here due to COVID-19. I could be wrong, but…. we are all exhausted by the pandemic, loss of lives, and all the up’s and downs concerning rules. Rules never been an issue for me and those in my camp. It’s the not being on the same page for me. Well here I go! My husband worked in the law enforcement in a correctional facility, in 2020 he was part of the law enforcement team for a year. Never complained, always willing to work overtime. Earlier in 2020 the entire world was still trying to get it right! Mask or no Mask. For awhile at the correctional facility, mask weren’t being worn, later they were able to receive them. During the times mask were being worn, two days back to back he was instructed to move two prisoners from one location to another, due to both being ill. Now, my husband asked what was wrong, but was told because of the HEPA Law their illnesses couldn’t be reveled. My husband did what was told and moved the prisoners on separate days with their belongings quickly. Within a day or two he asked to be tested after hearing a co-worker was being tested. My husband was tested, received a negative result in 3 days.
The start of the next week, here comes the coughing, fever, chills, shortness of breathe, labored breathing. He agreed to go to our local urgent care and saw the Doctor. The Doctor stated he wanted to re-test him for COVID and the flu. Flu test came back negative, 3 days later COVID came back positive. Y’all the look on his face, you can see the fear and concern. This is my strong man, fearless leader. My heart was so full, but I was hopeful and had faith he was going to pull through. I stoped what I was doing and just comforted him and tried to assure him that everybody’s case is different. What a journey!
Thanks friends!
Madeline.
